Simple Tips On Choosing Music For Wedding Reception
August 5th, 2009If you want your career as a DJ to be successful, then you should know what to play ay any possible event. That goes for wedding reception parties too! Wedding receptions are generally the time when everyone is happy and wants to have a good time. So having a combination of music which will cater to everyone’s musical taste buds is required. Start the party with some upbeat music so that the tempo of the party builds up. This is generally before the wedding party has entered the scene.
When the wedding party enters the scene, it is time to mellow down the music so that people can get a feeling of what is going to transpire. The next change of music comes when the bride and the groom make their entrance. Some of the best wedding reception programs have a DJ who will automatically know what to play when different parts of the reception occur. The trick here is to play a slow romantic number which has some significance on the lives of the bride and the groom. Even if they do not have any special affiliation for any romantic number, it is better to select any classic romantic number sung by a great like Elvis Presley or Bryan Adams.
The music for wedding reception should include music for the entire list of guests and not simply for the couple. Every party will have a wide range of people from all generations possible. So it is safer to play a song or two from a wide era of music so that no one feels left out. If you have been hired as DJ then you should know how to make a smooth transition from song to song. The general order of songs to be followed is to start from the fifties and then continue till the present day, minus the heavy metal, of course!
