Just GET ALONG!

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

I did a Wedding last week. The Bride HATED Country Western Music. Mom, however, picked the music and (maybe more importantly) paid for the event.

They spent the whole night avoiding each other. Neither would give an inch. I didn’t play any C&W Music until it was clear that the Bride (the focus for the night) had had a great time. Once I got the “thumbs up” from her, I put on some of Mom’s favorite Country selections. She then started to dance have a good time as well.

Please pass onto everyone you know involved in a wedding to “give a little” to ensure everyone has a great time. Disaster was averted, but much stress could of been avoided if the olive branch had been extended sooner.

Otherwise, it was a Tremendous event…

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

A perfect wedding is something that almost any girl dreams of having, that is, after she finds her prince charming. The perfect wedding ceremony should be followed by nonetheless, a perfect wedding reception. The reception is a celebration where the family and friends of the bride and groom gather together for a meal, drinks, and some fun at the dance floor. Naturally, the bride and groom have the first dance during the wedding reception. They should dance to the song that both of them choose.

There are countless bride and groom’s first dance songs and the bride and groom could pick one that best relates to their experiences for the time they already spent together. The top bride and groom song that is being chosen by couples is “Amazed” sung by Lonestar from their album Lonely Grill. The words of this song really capture what some people feel for each other and the chorus makes it the best wedding song. If the song Amazed isn’t the song you are looking for, the next on the list is “From this Moment” by Shania Twain and Brian White. This is truly a great song especially for someone’s wedding. This song makes all the people in the room feel the love that that the bride and groom have for one another. It’s really amazing. The third top song choice for the first dance is “At Last” sung by Etta James is also a wonderful song. The songs that come after that are “When You Say Nothing At All” by Keith Whitley and “All My Life” by K-Ci and JoJo. Others that belong in the top 10 songs at a wedding reception are “I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “It’s Your Love”, “My Best Friend”, and “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything”.

Important Tips For A Wedding DJ

Friday, July 17th, 2009

An ideal wedding is never complete if there is no music. There should be music from the moment people enter and the bride walks down the aisle to when everyone is eating and dancing at the reception. Before, the music can only be played by bands but now there are disk jockeys or DJs who also provide their services for wedding receptions. Hiring a wedding DJ can be much cheaper than hiring a band to play music. First of all, you only have to pay and feed one extra person compared to all the members of a band. Next, a band would take many breaks in between playing music whereas the DJ could arrange many songs to play nonstop for a long period of time. So nowadays, more people choose DJs over bands.

Being a wedding reception DJ is alright as long as you remember that the customer is always right. You should follow the rules that the bride, groom, and wedding planner give. You should prepare as many songs to play as possible because wedding receptions can take far longer than you might think. Take note that these songs should be really good because a lot of people hate bad music especially at a wedding. Remember that you hold the key to the life of the party so make sure you play music that lightens up the mood. A DJ should also be familiar with the equipment that is being used, including the speakers and microphones. You don’t want to go to the reception without knowing how your equipment works and what to do when it fails. Before going to a wedding reception, you should know what the schedule for that event is so that you know when exactly to come in and what particular song you should play at that particular time. It’s really not a big deal if you keep all this important information in mind.

What is the “latest thing” in Wedding Receptions?

Photobooths.

They are fun for everyone. With the new digital print outs, they typically come out in duplicates. With 4 poses, the first one come out serious and the last couple, the people get wacky. It is awesome.

Typically, they are $1500 for 4 hours, unlimited prints.
